Detlef Lengelsen retires after more than 22 years at HBE

After more than 22 years at HBE, Detlef Lengelsen is retiring. As Managing Director for many years, he has played a key role in the company’s development, the expansion of its product portfolio and its international growth.

At the end of September, Detlef Lengelsen will retire after more than 22 years at HBE. Since joining the company on 1 January 2004, he has supported its development over many years, with a particular focus on expanding the product portfolio and driving HBE’s international growth.

He began his career at HBE as a senior manager with responsibility for Sales, Marketing, Product Management and Product Development. In March 2005, he was granted sole power of procuration. On 4 January 2010, Detlef Lengelsen became Managing Director of HBE GmbH.

In the years that followed, the hydraulic components business was continuously expanded and HBE entered additional international markets. Alongside custom-manufactured hydraulic tanks, the ACI, ACIP and ACM series oil-air coolers were among the products developed under his responsibility. Investments in modern production and warehouse technology, as well as the expansion of production and quality standards, supported the company’s continued development.

“Detlef Lengelsen has managed HBE with a high degree of personal responsibility for many years and has had a lasting influence on the company’s strategic direction. With his technical expertise and entrepreneurial approach, he and his team have successfully developed HBE and positioned the company extremely well for the future. I would like to thank him sincerely for his many years of dedication, his loyalty and the consistently trusting working relationship we have shared. For this new chapter in his life, I wish him above all good health, many wonderful experiences and all the very best,” says Jürgen Echterhage, Managing Director of Echterhage Holding.

Following Detlef Lengelsen’s retirement, Sebastian Janik will take over as Managing Director of HBE GmbH. As a long-standing Managing Director within Echterhage Holding, he brings extensive experience from across the group and will continue HBE’s strategic development together with the existing team. In addition, Nadine Krumreich will take on the role of Executive General Manager. Her responsibilities will include supporting strategic sales, business development and the further development of market and customer activities. Dominik Schmöle will take responsibility for operational sales organisation and customer support as Sales Team Leader.
